Rajasthan Royals (RR) had an amazing campaign in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). They played with amazing consistency throughout the season. However Gujarat Titans (GT) got the better of them on every occasion, including the mega final.

Meanwhile, during the Qualifier between RR and GT in Kolkata, an interesting incident took place. During the last over of the Rajasthan innings, Ravichandran Ashwin refused to take a single and keep the strike with himself despite Riyan Parag present at the non- striker end.

Riyan Parag eventually was dismissed and ran out due to this. Parag didn’t look happy with Ashwin for refusing to take a single. Several fans slammed Riyan for showing this attitude toward a senior.

However, Parag in an interview revealed what happened between him and Ashwin after that run out. Parag said that Ashwin apologised to him in the dressing room.

Riyan Parag said: “Ashwin bhai was batting. In that situation someone else would have been a tailender together then it would have been fine (not taking a run). But if I am batting then they should run. He didn’t run for the run and I was surprised. That was not my attitude. Later he himself came and said sorry to me.”

“Baccha hai bacche ki tarah reh” – Riyan Parag reveals about his verbal spat with Siraj and Harshal in IPL 2022

Riyan Parag in the interview also opened up about his fight with Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel after the completion of innings. Riyan revealed that Siraj initiated the verbal spat with him. Parag said that Siraj told me to stay quiet and behave accordingly as per my age.

Riyan Parag said, ” Harshal showed me some hand gestures in the 2021 match after I got out and it stuck with me. After bashing Harshal in the last over , I showed the same gesture to him but didn’t say anything. But Siraj jumped in unnecessarily telling me that I should act in limit and behave like a kid that I am.”
