Wicketkeeper batter for Team India, Ishan Kishan, took photos with his teammates upon their arrival in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup 2023. Before their trip, Kishan and all other Indian players participated in a 6-day camp in Bangalore, where they practised intensively under the supervision of head coach Rahul Dravid and support staff.

However, the players have reached Sri Lanka to play the Asia Cup 2023. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan shared pictures on his official Instagram account, featuring him posing with players like Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, and Tilak Varma.

He included a playful caption that said: “Life is short , so smile till you have teeth 😁🤪”

“Even if you put Ishan Kishan in the playing XI, you won’t have a replacement” – Mohammad Kaif on Team India’s unsettled batting order

Meanwhile, the former India player Mohammad Kaif provided insight into this situation on Star Sports where he opened up on KL Rahul’s absence in the middle-order for the first two games of Asia Cup 2023. However, Ishan Kishan is the lone wicketkeeper option in the Indian squad for the Asia Cup.

He said, “Even if you put Ishan Kishan in the playing XI, you won’t have a replacement,” commented Mohammad Kaif during a Star Sports discussion. “(On KL Rahul’s absence) It means his injury could aggravate. If he is unfit now, there is no guarantee that he will be fit after two games. The news is not good for Indian fans because Rahul plays very well at No. 5 in ODIs. His stats are very good.”

He knows how to shift gears, is able to play big shots, and knows how to stabilize innings. You won’t get a replacement even if you play Ishan Kishan. Apart from wicketkeeping, Rahul also provides a finishing touch. Gill’s form has slightly dropped. He didn’t fare well on the West Indies tour, but I think the Kandy pitch will suit him. He loves pace and bounce. The ball will move, so the challenge will always be there for the top,” he concluded.
