Asia Cup 2023: [WATCH] Virat Kohli’s Leap Of Joy To Celebrate His Century Grabs The Eyeballs

Team India batter Virat Kohli played a terrific knock against Pakistan in the Super Four match of the 2023 Asia Cup on Monday, September 11 (reserve day) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. His partnership with KL Rahul powered India to 356 runs in the first innings. He notched up his century in the match, his fourth consecutive at the venue.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, the overnight batters started off well on the reserve day for India. They kept the scoreboard ticking and also put the bad deliveries away for boundaries. Together they put on 233 runs for the third-wicket stand for India. In the forty-eighth over of the innings, the veteran batter got to the three-figure mark.

Virat Kohli tapped a back-of-a-length delivery off Shaheen Afridi towards gully for a single run. He jumped and pumped in the air in delight to celebrate his century. He took off his helmet and bowed to the crowd who was on their feet to applaud the knock. With this Kohli, brought up his 47th ODI century.

Team India batter Shubman Gill praised Virat Kohli’s knock against Pakistan in the 2023 Asia Cup. He expressed that the veteran cricketer is an inspiration for many including him. Kohli also completed 13000 ODI runs during the knock, becoming the fastest to achieve the feat. Speaking at the mid-innings break, Shubman said,

“Obviously, Virat Bhai also completed his century and got to 13000 runs which shows he is a great inspiration to all of us. The ball was doing a little bit in the initial period and they also bowled well with the new ball, but it was important for us to take them on and put the bad balls away to put the pressure back on them,” he added.
