Australia Set To Travel To India For 3 T20Is In September: Reports

India vs Australia matches are something fans of both teams and cricket fans absolutely love. They have been the best two teams in this century and have played out some really classic matches over the years.

Be it any format of the game, or any venue, the game between India and Australia is always the one that entertains. Fans await a true classic series whenever these sides meet. Their last meeting happened in 2020-21, where a Rishabh Pant masterclass won India the test series.

According to reports, Australia is set to travel to India for a short series of 3 T20Is. This would be a short preparation series for both teams and a chance to finalize their squads for the upcoming T20 World Cup in October in Australia.

It must be noted that the Aussies won the 2021 edition of the competition and hence, will look to defend their title at home. India, who endured a hard time in last year’s gala competition, would fight for redemption.

When India last met Australia in a T20 series

When these teams last met in a T20 series was in November 2020, where Virat Kohli and his men won the series 2-1. This was India’s first international series since the start of the pandemic and showed their class down under.

Since that series win in Australia, a lot has changed for both teams. Aaron Finch and his men have been lethal and have won the T20 World Cup. Whilst, on the other hand, India have a change in captaincy as Rohit Sharma is the new captain for India in all formats since Kohli’s retirement as captain after the T20 World Cup.
