BAN vs NED: [WATCH]- Shakib Al Hasan Loses Temper Again; Engages In Heated Argument With Umpire

International cricket made a comeback to Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown after nearly a decade, with Bangladesh and Netherlands facing off in a pivotal Group D match. Both teams aimed to secure a place in the Super 8 round with a win today.

The Netherlands won the toss and opted to field first, asking Bangladesh to bat. The Tigers began well but also suffered regular setbacks. However, experienced players Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmadullah took charge, forming an unbeaten 41-run partnership for the fifth wicket, putting Bangladesh in a strong position.

Meanwhile, Shakib, after scoring his 13th T20I fifty against the Dutch, became visibly upset on the field and got involved in a heated dispute with the on-field umpire regarding a potential wide call.

In the 16th over, on the fourth delivery, Van Beek delivered a sharp bouncer to Mahmudullah. The umpire ruled it as a legal delivery and indicated a ‘First Bounce’ gesture. However, Shakib, positioned at the non-striker’s end, disagreed with the decision and engaged in an argument with the umpire.

After the first innings, Bangladesh posted a total of 159/5 on the scoreboard. Shakib remained not out, scoring 64 runs from 46 deliveries, including nine boundaries.
