Chennai Super Kings (CSK) got the better of the Mumbai Indians (MI)in the El Clasico of IPL on Thursday at DY Patil stadium in Mumbai. CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja won the toss and decided to field first. Mumbai scored 155 runs while batting first courtesy of a great effort from Tilak Verma. In reply, CSK successfully chased the target of 156 on the last ball.

Mumbai Indians lost both Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the first over of the match itself. MI were in deep trouble when Suryakumar Yadav came to bat at No. 4 after the fall of the first two wickets. But Suryakumar as usual played a fearless brand of Cricket and scored 32 runs off 23 balls before he handed a catch to Mukesh at long leg on the bowling of Santner.

After the match, Suryakumar and Ravindra Jadeja were involved in a funny conversation. Mumbai Indians Twitter handle uploaded a 17-second video in which Jadeja was heard saying ” Brother please leave one corner of the ground for us to defend. Sometimes here.Sometimes there.”

Suryakumar was quick to reply and said “Tune toh barabar bitha ke rakha tha ek aadmi.”(You had perfectly placed one fielder for me.)  Later Ravindra Jadeja replied, “Yeah, I had kept it right here because I knew you’d hit one here.”

MS Dhoni finishes off in style

Vintage MS Dhoni was on offer against Mumbai Indians. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) needed 16 runs in four balls of the last over to win the game against Mumbai Indians. Dhoni kept his calm and smashed Jaydev Unadkat for 6, 4, 2 and 4 runs in the last over and finished the match for CSK.

Dhoni, who scored a fine hundred in the IPL 2022 opener, had a couple of flat outings in the last couple of games. But cometh hour cometh the man. The 41-year-old once again proved that he is still the best in the business, finishing the game in style.
