Rohit Sharma

The two most successful IPL teams Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are facing each other in El Clasico of IPL at DY Patil Stadium on 21st April 2022. It has been a forgettable season for both teams. Both the champion teams stand at the bottom position in the points table of IPL 2022.

CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja won the toss and decided to field first against Mumbai Indians. However the first over didn’t go as per plans of Mumbai Indians. Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck on the 2nd ball of the first over. Mukesh Chaudhary took the important wicket of Rohit Sharma.

Rohit wanted to push forward but the bat turned in hand and it took the inner edge of the bat and went straight into the hands of Santner who was standing in mid-on. Rohit has been in poor form in IPL since 2017 and this season has also been pathetic for him. Rohit faced a heavy backlash for his poor form in the ongoing IPL season

Here is how fans reacted to Rohit Sharma’s batting form :

Middle-order revives Mumbai Indians after a faulty start

The five-time IPL champions have had an awful start to the game. Mukesh Choudhary knocked over Ishan Kishan in the same over before getting the better of Dewald Brevis in the fourth over. Suryakumar Yadav tried to steer the innings alongside Tilak Varma and added a small partnership before Mitchell Santner dismissed Mumbai’s No.4 batter.

Suryakumar looked in red-hot form during his 21-ball 32 run knock but holed out to the deep square leg fielder in an attempt to break the shackles. It brought debutant Hrithik Shokeen in the middle. The youngster along with Tilak steadied the ship to take the total over 100.
