Suryakumar Yadav has taken giant strides in international cricket since his debut last year. He also earned his debut call for the Test series against England last year. The middle-order recalled a hilarious incident when wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant left him in splits.

Meanwhile, it is no secret that Rishabh Pant is a chatterbox behind the stumps. He likes to speak and get into the skin of the opponent batters. The stump mic revelations are gold whenever Pant is keeping. His banter with former Australia skipper Tim Paine three years ago had earned him plenty of fame.

Suryakumar Yadav, who is yet to make his Test debut, was fielding in the forward short leg as a substitute fielder during the last tour of England. While the atmosphere was tense, Rishabh Pant left Suryakumar baffled with his comedy from behind the stumps.

“Once I was fielding at silly point for Puji bhai in a Test in England. The match situation was tight. And suddenly Pant goes ‘Bhaiya chai samosa, kuch du? Over hogaya. Uth jao!’ (bro do you need anything? Tea, samosa? Get up now, the over is done!)”, Suryakumar said during the latest episode of Breakfast with Champions.

“He confuses me where to go” – Suryakumar Yadav on Rishabh Pant

The 31-year-old cricketer from Mumbai also opened up on an episode involving Rishabh Pant, where the wicket-keeper batter left the former confused over field placements. Suryakumar Yadav added:

“Rishabh is too good when he is keeping. He moves me just 20 cm. Sometimes he does this (hand gestures) and it confuses me where to go. Then he says ‘nothing bhaiya, was just getting bored. Please stand wherever you are’,” he added.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav is currently plying trade for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. While the batter has looked in form, the five-time IPL champion have had the worst start to the competition. They have lost all their six games so far in IPL 2022 and languish at the bottom of the points table.
