BCCI Announces Schedule And Venue Details For TATA IPL 2022 Playoffs And Women’s T20 Challenge 2022

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule and venue details for TATA IPL 2022 Playoffs and Women’s T20 Challenge 2022 on Tuesday. The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Playoffs and Final will be played from 24th May to 29th May in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

Qualifier 1 will be held in Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 24th May followed by the Eliminator on 25th May. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host Qualifier 2 and the TATA IPL final on 27th and 29th May respectively.

The full schedule of the TATA IPL 2022 Playoffs is as follows:

24-May-22 – Qualifier 1 – Team 1 vs Team 2- Kolkata (Eden Gardens)

25-May-22 – Eliminator – Team 3 vs Team 4- Kolkata (Eden Gardens)

27-May-22 – Qualifier 2 – Winner of Eliminator vs Loser of Qualifier 1- Ahmedabad (Narendra Modi Stadium)

29-May-22 – Final – Winner of Qualifier 1 vs Winner of Qualifier 2- Ahmedabad (Narendra Modi Stadium)

Earlier, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had confirmed that the Play-off matches would be played with a 100% crowd in the stadiums. “As far as the men’s IPL knock-out stage matches are concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred percent attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league staged finishes on May 22.” Ganguly said to media as reported by ANI.

Women’s T20 Challenge 2022 – Full Schedule

Meanwhile, the Women’s T20 Challenge to be played from 23rd May to 28th May will be held in Pune. With the second half of the Men’s IPL 2021 being shifted to the UAE because of the pandemic, the tournament was not held last year.

The last edition (2020) of Women’s T20 Challenge was played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE during men’s IPL playoffs. Team Trailblazers, led by the Indian opener Smriti Mandhana won the tournament.

23-May-22 – 7:30 PM- Match No.1- Pune (Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium)

24-May-22 – 3:30 PM- Match No.2- Pune (Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium)

26-May-22 – 7:30 PM- Match No.3- Pune (Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium)

28-May-22 – 7:30 PM- Final- Pune (Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium)

The BCCI is also planning to start the women’s IPL by 2023, with five or six teams in the inaugural edition.
