Ishan Kishan was the most expensive player in IPL 2022 auctions. Mumbai Indians bought him for a whopping 15.25 crores. MI had signed him earlier in 2018 also. That time the price was 6.2 crores .
On Breakfast With Champions, Ishan explained that he was extremely chilled out before the 2018 auctions. He was playing football with his friends. Then he got to know about the price at which he has been sold to Mumbai Indians. He was happy and wanted to meet his parents.
Ishan said:
“I was chilled out. It was my auction, I should be stressed about it. I had gone to play football with my friends. When the auction ended I got a call from Monu Bhai (Monu Kumar-Jharkhand cricketer). He is telling me what all happened at the auction. I was like its good I have been sold at good money, I should go home and meet everyone.”
Ishan Kishan revealed that his dad (Mr. Pranav Pandey) was so nervous about the auctions that he went to a hospital to get his Blood Pressure checked.
But when he got to know that his son is sold at a good price, he took the machine off and told the doctor he was ready to go home.
Ishan said: “I went home and saw that mom is on the call, cheeks red and on a call. I saw that dad wasn’t even there. I asked where is dad? She said, ‘He has gone to the hospital to check his BP’. I am thinking ‘what has happened to my family?’ (Laughs).”
“The moment I got sold, He [Ishan’s dad] took the machine off and told the doctor- BP and everything is fine now,” Ishan Kishan concluded.
