Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg has questioned the spirit of the game in the Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings encounter on Saturday in Delhi. Chasing 219 to win, Mumbai won the game off the last ball off the match with Kieron Pollard scoring an unbeaten 87. In the process, Mumbai get to eight points from their first seven games and remain fourth on the last. Despite the defeat, CSK maintain their position at the top.
Despite the legacy of the rivalry, Brad Hogg has questioned the spirit of the game in the match. Through a tweet, he tried to prove how Mumbai batsman Dhawal Kulkarni is way ahead of his crease before the final ball of the match is bowled by Lungi Ngidi.
“Sorry again for my harp. Last night last ball 2 runs needed and the non-striker again taking advantage. Is this in the spirit of the game. #IPL2020 #MIvsCSK” Hogg wrote on Twitter.

In one the earlier games, Pollard too was seen trying to steal a single by before the bowler has even bowled the delivery. Batsmen standing way out of the crease in crucial moments is a long-standing problem that is still persistent in both domestic and international cricket . Hogg’s tweet has just highlighted the issues even more.
Meanwhile, Kieron Pollard unbeaten 87 paved a way for a brilliant Mumbai Indians win. Mumbai needed16 to win off the final over which also included two dot balls by Nigidi. However, in just four balls Pollard got the runs and won the rivalry against CSK.
Both sides have two more games left in Delhi before they moved ahead in their IPL 2021 campaign for the final leg of the league stage. Out of the 56 league matches, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata & Bengaluru will host 10 matches each while Ahmedabad and Delhi will host 8 matches each.
