Some youngsters from Gujarat formed a cricket league named “Indian Premier Cricket League“. Around 21-23 youngsters were involved in this league who represented three teams named Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Chennai Super Kings. They alternatively represented these teams

Police official Bhavesh Rathod said, “Shoeb hired the farm of Ghulam Masih and installed halogen lights there. He readied 21 farm labourers, promising them Rs 400 per match. Next, he hired cameramen and bought t-shirts of IPL teams. Shoeb would take live bets over the Telegram channel.” 

“Walkie-talkie used to signal fours or sixes” – Police officials

In order to make the league real, they also added crowd noise by adding fake background music of the crowd cheering for the teams. A commentator was involved with the talent of mimicking Harsha Bhogle to give a real feel.

They made a telegram channel to invite bets for the matches. They used walkie-talkies to communicate what action would be taken on the next ball depending on the bet settled.

The police officials further said, “He would instruct Kolu, the umpire, over a walkie-talkie to signal fours and sixes. Kolu communicated the same to the batsman and the bowler. Acting on the instructions, the bowler would deliver a slow ball, enabling the batsman to hit it for a four or a six.”
