“Captain’s Decisions Are Very Strange” – Mohammad Nabi Shares A Fan’s Post Critising Hardik Pandya, Later Deletes

MI all-rounder Mohamad Nabi posted a fan’s Instagram story criticizing captain Hardik Pandya after the team’s nine-run victory against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. MI defended a 193-run target to secure their third win of the season, with only two overs of spin bowled in the run chase, delivered by leg spinner Shreyas Gopal. Nabi did not have the opportunity to bowl in the match.

A fan posted an Instagram story criticizing captain Pandya for not utilizing Nabi in the bowling attack during the entire innings. The experienced Afghan player also reposted the criticism, sparking speculation among Mumbai supporters about the team’s harmony.  It’s noteworthy that Mohammad Nabi later removed the mentioned Instagram story. Nabi shared a story that stated:

“Some of your captain’s decisions are very strange and surprise people!? Nabi didn’t bowl today!”

Mohammad Nabi has bowled only six overs in IPL 2024 across four matches. So far, he hasn’t taken any wickets and has conceded runs at an economy rate of 7.17. In their recent match against Punjab, Mumbai Indians narrowly won. They seemed to be in control when PBKS were struggling at 77/6 in 9.2 overs. However, Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh’s contributions of 61 and 41 runs respectively revived PBKS’s hopes.

Despite their efforts, PBKS couldn’t secure a win and suffered their fifth loss in IPL 2024. Meanwhile, MI clinched their third victory in seven games and currently holds the seventh position in the points table.

Mumbai Indians register a comfortable win

MI’s Afghan talent, Mohammad Nabi, initially shared a fan’s post criticizing MI captain Hardik Pandya’s leadership in the ongoing IPL 2024, but later deleted it. Although the Instagram user may have used Nabi’s image, where he completed a catch, the caption was aimed at criticizing Hardik’s leadership.

The Instagram user highlighted that Hardik didn’t allow Nabi to bowl during MI’s match against PBKS at the Mullanpur Stadium near Mohali on Thursday, April 19. The caption of the post read, “Some of your captain’s decisions are very strange and surprise people!? Nabi didn’t bowl today.”

Nabi shared the Instagram story again, which also had a caption: “President. Game Changer. At a very important time, 2 catches and a very important run-out.”

Initially, Nabi seemed to have overlooked the critical caption in the fan’s post, focusing instead on his contribution to the team despite not bowling. However, upon realizing the implications, he promptly removed the post. Later, Nabi’s crucial run-out in the last over against PBKS, with PBKS needing 11 runs to win, led to their dismissal for 183 runs. MI continues to uphold its tagline “One Family,” with players consistently demonstrating their strong bonds.

The last-over thriller between MI and PBKS ended with Mumbai winning by 9 runs. Another controversy arose regarding the DRS call made by the Mumbai team. Television footage showed head coach Mark Boucher and batter Tim David signalling to Suryakumar Yadav to review a wide call from the dugout, which went viral.

Some fans claimed that Suryakumar Yadav only reviewed the call from the on-field umpire after seeing signals from the dugout, where Mark Boucher and Tim David appeared visibly frustrated.  However, there were also heartwarming moments, including Rohit hugging Hardik after Mumbai’s victory. Suryakumar also praised the emerging star, Ashutosh Singh. MI’s star batter interacted with
