[WATCH] Fans At Wankhede Stadium ‘Boos’ Hardik Pandya During The Toss For The MI vs CSK Match

During the toss at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya was met with chants of ‘Rohit, Rohit’ from the crowd. This incident, captured on social media, has quickly gained traction online.

The fans’ reaction reflects their disappointment with Pandya taking over as captain from Rohit Sharma, who led the team for two years before returning. As a result, Pandya has faced heavy booing from fans during home games, and today was no exception.

In the meantime, Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mumbai Indians maintained their lineup, while the Super Kings made a single alteration, replacing off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana with pacer Matheesha Pathirana.

Mumbai Indians (MI) start doing better after losing three games in a row

After losing their first three matches against the Gujarat Titans, SunRisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals, the Mumbai Indians have noticeably improved in their last two games. They convincingly defeated the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Particularly noteworthy was their victory against RCB, where Jasprit Bumrah’s exceptional bowling performance restricted the opposition to 196/3, earning him a five-wicket haul. Yet, the batsmen effortlessly achieved the target, completing the chase in just 15.3 overs. Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya all played significant roles.

Suryakumar, who failed to score against the Capitals upon his return from injury, bounced back with a remarkable innings of 52 runs off 19 balls against the Royal Challengers. His innings included five fours and four sixes.

MI and CSK have a rich history of rivalry, having faced each other in four finals to date. MI has had the upper hand, winning three of those encounters. MI’s upcoming game is against PBKS on April 18th at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.
