[WATCH] Hardik Pandya Rushes To Embrace MS Dhoni Before The MI vs CSK IPL 2024 Match

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya shares a strong bond with Chennai Super Kings icon MS Dhoni off the field. Before the IPL 2024 clash between MI and CSK at the Wankhede Stadium, Pandya hurried to Dhoni to embrace him warmly. 

Last year, Pandya openly expressed his willingness to accept defeat in the IPL 2023 Final against Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings, showcasing his profound respect for the CSK legend. This mutual respect was evident once again at the Wankhede Stadium before the MI vs CSK match.

Dhoni was engaged in a pre-match football session in Mumbai when Pandya dashed from another area of the ground to warmly embrace him. An X user posted the video on their profile.

Pandya is captaining the Mumbai Indians for the first time in a match against the Chennai Super Kings. The MI captain won the toss and chose to field first at the Wankhede Stadium. Pandya showed great success leading the Gujarat Titans against the Chennai Super Kings in the past two IPL seasons, with the Titans securing victories against CSK on multiple occasions under his leadership.

 

Additionally, Mumbai Indians have historically been strong against the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. It will be intriguing to see if Mumbai’s new captain can continue this trend and secure his first win against their arch-rivals, Chennai. Up to this point, the Mumbai team has performed reasonably well at the Wankhede Stadium. The Chennai Super Kings are 53/1 after 7.1 overs. While Ajinkya Rahane fell early, Rachin Ravindra has steadied the innings alongside captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.
