Delhi Capitals will be heading to the IPL 2022 mega auctions with a purse of INR 47.5 crore, which is the lowest among all the franchises. Star players like Rishabh Pant (16 cr), Axar Patel (9 cr), Prithvi Shaw (7.5 cr), and Anrich Nortje (6.5 cr) have already been retained by the Delhi Franchise ahead of the auction which is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on Feb 12 and 13.
Meanwhile, DC assistant coach Pravin Amre has opened up on the approach the franchise will have for the auctions. Pravin believes that Delhi’s retention of players has been spot-on, since each of the four players has a unique set of skills.
“The best thing we have done is that we have kept four key players in our squad, we’ve got a top-order batsman, we’ve got a wicketkeeper-batsman, we have got an all-rounder, and a quick bowler, so we have done the basics right.”, Pravin said as quoted in a media release.

There will be a lot of competition in the Mega-Auction- Pravin Amre
The 53-year old added that the Capitals are now trying to sign 7 players who can perfectly balance their Playing XI. He also admitted that to get those players of choice would not be easy as 9 more teams would be competing with them.
“Now, we want to get seven players, who can give us more balance basically, that’s our important goal, and that’s the challenge, to be honest. We know that there will be a lot of competition, we know that some franchises will be having more money, and that’s when all the expertise and all the auction experience will count. What little knowledge I’ve gained from five-six auctions, which I’ve attended is, sometimes unexpected things happen.”, Pravin said.
