Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra feels that England will grab hold of the advantage and control the game on the final day at Lord’s. He has also predicted the side to beat India on the fifth day. India are currently 181/6 with a lead of 154 runs. The pitch showed signs of turn and bounce in the last session of the fourth day. Moeen Ali got the ball to turn and bounce sharply and picking up to wickets in the process.

Previewing the fifth day’s play at Lord’s Aakash Chopra said that he is backing England to beat India on the fifth day and win the Test match.

“You can kill me for that, I am saying England to win. I feel England will win this encounter because the pitch has become slower but not deteriorated. An odd ball is staying low or climbing, it is not a variable bounce that might disturb you and it is not going to turn that much.”

India Will Be Bowled Out In First 20 Overs: Aakash Chopra

Chopra further said that the Indian team will be bowled out within the first 20 overs of the day’s play. They can take a lead of 190-200 runs max with England chasing those runs in two sessions of play.

“India will be all out in the first 20 overs. If we are all out inside twenty overs, what is the kind of score that you are looking at? 190 I think is where India will reach. If they go beyond that, the story will be different. India’s chances of defending will increase significantly if it is a score over 200. But I think it might not be possible to reach there with the second new ball and the long tail that we have.”

With Rishabh Pant batting at the other end with Ishant Sharma, he has the license to score quick runs and take India to a lead of close to 250. With the left-hander having played impactful innings in the past, it will be interesting to see how long can the Indian tail stay with him at the wicket.
