Former Australia cricketer Brad Hogg believes fast bowler Mohammed Shami will turn out to be the match-winner in the upcoming five-match Test series against England. The much-anticipated encounter which starts on August 4 in Nottingham will also mark the beginning of the ICC World Test Championship.
Shami has been in good rhythm in the last couple of years and the trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, and Shami is one the best bowling attack in the world at present. The fast bowler from Bengal had a good outing in 2018 and will once again fancy his chances.

Ahead of the start of the series, Brad Hogg has stated that if India wants to win the series, Mohammed Shami needs to bowl well. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former cricketer said:
โIf you look at Shami, he bowled brilliantly the last time. He was just beating the outside edge and had a couple of dropped chances. But I think Shami is going to be the bees knees in this series. He is the one who is going to win it for India. I think he is going to have a lot more luck if he bowls like he did in the World Test Championship final.โ

Speaking further, Brad Hogg asserted that Virat Kohli & Co has not got enough time to adjust to the conditions having played the ICC World Test Championship final and a couple of warm-up games.
Hogg reckons this is enough preparation for a big series against England.
โThe last time India went to England in 2018, they got walloped 4-1. But this is a new series. They have been over there for two months. They have played in the World Test Championship final. They have played a lot of warm-up games. So there are no excuses. They should be adjusted to these foreign conditions,โ he added.ย
