Jasprit Bumrah faced severe backlash last month for his performance in the ICC World Test Championship final. The pacer has roared back to form in the first test match against England.
Bumrah led the Indian bowling from the front. He picked up nine wickets in the match – four in the first innings and a fifer in the second. At one moment, the England team was looking in a commanding position at 135/2 with 40 runs lead. But Jasprit Bumrah pulled things back for India, by dismissing Dominic Sibley. He struck at crucial junctures to keep his side in the game.

While Addressing the media after the end of day four, Jasprit Bumrah revealed the changes that he made post the World test championship final. He said, “Not a lot of adjustments to be very honest, just the mindset adjustments. Probably not looking at the end result, being in the moment, trying to back your skills, and enjoy the game of cricket. There are not a lot of changes that I have made and I am looking to do. I am just trying to improve my game all the time and trying to add new things, at the same time carrying the things that I still have.”
At the end of day four, India needs 157 more runs to chase down the target of 209, with nine wickets in hand. Speaking about the match, Bumrah said that they will take one session at a time.
“When you start to play the game of cricket, you have to believe in yourself and you want to play to win. We do not want to look too far ahead, we have got a good start, now we just want to take it session by session and hopefully take things from there,” Bumrah concluded.
