India beat England by 157 runs at The Oval to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series. The final Test match at Manchester will be played between September 10-14. Meanwhile, from being in a position to potentially win the Test match, England had a batting collapse on the final day to eventually lose the Test match. They were bowled out for 210 with still 30 overs left in the day’s play.
From being 77 for no loss, England lost wickets in a flurry once Shardul Thakur dismissed Rory Burns. Between 141 to 147, the hosts lost four wickets for just six runs. This was when the slide started for England.
Shardul Thakur dismissing Joe Root and Chris Woakes were the two crucial wickets in the line-up. Ravindra Jadeja for all his criticism took two wickets and timely ones as well. He dismissed Hameed and Moeen Ali pitching the ball in the rough and the pitch doing the rest.
Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each. Bumrah got the ball to reverse swing and got his yorkers on spot. He dismissed Ollie Pope with an inswinger and Jonny Bairstow with a perfect yorker in back to back over of his spell. Umesh Yadav dismissing Chris Woakes just before lunch made the Indian win all the more guaranteed. Umesh Yadav taking the final wicket of James Anderson ensured a 157-run win for the Virat Kohli-led team.

Team India to all those who thought India is winning on Turning tracks in India and were quick to write off the team.

Kohli's team has a historic opportunity to win by a margin of 3-1 in England. No Indian team has done that. But, the way, they have taken 2-1 lead at #Ovaltest , you can expect anything now. Well done boys! #ENGvIND #INDvENG

Marvellous session for India, picking up 6 wickets. Terrific bowling by Bumrah — hostile & penetrative — supported by Jadeja, Thakur and Umesh and Kohli making all the right moves. India completely on top but as the cliche goes, match isn’t won till the last wicket falls

This is quality cricket from India. They have bottled England who are showing visible signs of stress. England have been poor in the last half hour

This is a very special Test Match win. After being 127/7 on the first day, not many teams can make a comeback and win a away test the way Team India have done. That is why this is a very special Indian Team. Congratulations to everyone for playing their part in a memorable win. pic.twitter.com/9XDJCCrAwC

For the first time in 14 years, an Indian cricket team will return from England having not lost the Test series. This is a huge, huge achievement. A win at Manchester will now be the icing on the cake.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 #INDvENG #ENGvIND

This Indian win is very similar to how IND lost in Karachi in 2006 to Pakistan. PAK were 39/6 in that match & looked done & dusted. Similarly India were 127/7 on Day 1. To conjure a win from that position is very special.
And on both occasions, I couldn't believe the result.

So India have 5 Test wins against @englandcricket this calendar year (2021). It's the first time ever that the Indian team has posted 5 Test wins against a particular opponent in a calendar year. #ENGvIND
