Rohit Sharma looked as if he was not ready for the ball coming his way as the ball took the edge of Hameed’s bat. Shami bowled the ball just outside the off-stump and the ball went on the full to Rohit before it went through his hands. This flew towards the left of Rohit, but he was a tad late to go for the catch as the ball hit his wrists and sneaked through and allowed the batsman to take a couple of runs.

Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah (34) and Mohammed Shami (56*) added an unbeaten 89 -partnership for the ninth wicket to help India get a lead of over 250. Vira Kohli finally decided to declare asking England to score 276 runs from60-odd overs to win the Test match. The duo were given a grand welcome by the Indian teammates when Kohli called them back in.

India have won just two Test matches at Lord’s, the last of which came in 2014 courtesy of Ishant Sharma’s best spell in Test cricket.
