India’s right-arm pacer Mohammed Shami slammed his second fifty in Test cricket in the second test match against England at the Lord’s cricket ground. The pacer walked in to bat at 194 for seven down after Rishabh Pant was dismissed by Ollie Robinson. He started to take on the England bowlers adding crucial runs to India’s lead.

In the 106th over, Shami slammed a 92m long six, dancing down the wicket against Moeen Ali to complete a quick-fire fifty. An elated Indian dressing room stood up to applaud the pacer’s knock.

Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have together added 77 runs for the ninth wicket stand, the highest at the Lord’s cricket ground for India. India added 105 runs at the run rate of 4.04 in the first session on day five. At lunch break, India is 286 for eight down, leading by 259 runs.

Former India cricketer and commentator, Aakash Chopra, lauded Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami’s fighting spirit. He wrote, Simply adore the fighting spirit of this Indian team. Meanwhile, India added a couple of more runs before declaring the innings at 298/8. England now need 270 runs to win the match with around 60 overs left for the day.
