England Are Using IPL As A Vehicle To Try And Grow Players – Eoin Morgan

Indian Premier League has oftentimes been a springboard to stardom for several cricketers. Not only Indian players but also foreign players want to feature in the most notable T20 league in the world. The level of cricket in the IPL is near to that of international cricket as almost every top cricketer plays in the league.

England’s World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan has told that IPL takes players out of their comfort zones. He added that there is enormous pressure on players while playing in front of packed houses in the IPL.

Morgan further pointed out that he pushed former England coach Andrew Strauss to let players go to the IPL.

Morgan said, “You are playing as an overseas player who can take one of four spots. So there is a huge pressure to make the XI. Two, the pressure of expectation playing around India is enormous. It takes you out of your comfort zone. I pushed Andrew Strauss to let England players go to the IPL”, Eoin Morgan told Harsha Bhogle in an interview with Cricbuzz.
