Fans Thrilled As BCCI Allows 50% Crowd For Virat Kohli’s Milestone Test

Virat Kohli will play his 100th test match on Friday at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali against Sri Lanka. Ahead of the milestone test, the Board of Control for Cricket in India, announced 50% of the capacity crowd will be allowed to attend the match.

The board had earlier decided to host the match behind closed doors. However, Jay Shah has now confirmed that the crowd will be allowed for the Mohali test match.

“The decision to allow spectators into the ground is one taken by State Cricketing Associations and in present circumstances, is based on various factors. I have spoken with the PCA office bearers and they have confirmed that cricket fans will be able to witness the historic moment of Virat Kohli playing his 100th Test match,” said Jay Shah in his statement.

“I am really looking forward to Virat Kohli’s 100th Test and wish our champion cricketer the very best. This is an occasion for our fans to savor. May he continue to represent the country in many more matches to come,” Shah added.

The Punjab Cricket Association is gearing up to host the test match. There, will be huge hoardings in the stadium, to mark Kohli’s achievement. The association is planning to felicitate Kohli during the test match. Virat Kohli has been a pillar of Indian cricket over the past decade.

He has scored 7962 runs in Test matches at an average of 50.39, including 27 centuries. The right-handed batter has led India to Test series wins in Australia and England. He will join the illustrious list and become the 12th Indian cricketer to play 100 test matches.

Meanwhile, the cricket fans are delighted to have 50% crowd capacity at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.
