Gautam Gambhir’s Pre-IPL Pep Talk Resurfaces As KKR Secure Final Berth

As Kolkata Knight Riders advanced to the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 by defeating SunRisers Hyderabad, a speech by their mentor Gautam Gambhir has gained attention online. In Qualifier 1, KKR convincingly beat SRH by eight wickets, chasing down a target of 160 runs with more than six overs to spare. KKR will next contend with either SRH once more or the victor of the Eliminator clash between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 26th.

The team’s opponent for the final showdown will be determined by the outcome of the ongoing IPL matches. Before the tournament started, Gambhir gave a motivating speech to the team, emphasizing the importance of aiming for the final and winning the IPL this season. This passionate speech has become a hot topic on social media following KKR’s impressive victory that secured their spot in the final.

“Everyone in this group will be treated equally. There is no senior-junior, there is no domestic-international because we have got one mission that is to win this IPL. So everyone needs to follow that one simple path. On 26th May, we should be there, giving everything positive and it starts from today. It’s not gonna start on the 26th (May) or 23rd (March), it’s starts today,” Gambhir said ahead of IPL 2024.

Mitchell Starc’s Stellar Performance Propels KKR to Victory against SRH

KKR’s 24.75 crore acquisition, Mitchell Starc, shone brightly as he took three quick wickets, helping KKR bowl out SRH for 159 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Starc made an impact right at the start, dismissing fellow Australian Travis Head with the second ball of the match, marking Head’s second consecutive duck in the tournament.

Starc’s crucial twin strikes in his third over further weakened the opposition, as he dismissed Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmed with consecutive deliveries, reducing Hyderabad to 39-4 in five overs. Although Rahul Tripathi, who scored 55, and Heinrich Klaasen, who made 32, fought back with a partnership of 62 runs, Varun Chakravarthy’s spin eventually broke through, dismissing Klaasen.

Tripathi was run out, leading to a collapse of wickets, but Cummins helped boost the total with a quick 30 off 24 balls. In response, Rahmanullah Gurbaz provided Kolkata with a strong start, scoring 23 off 14 balls, while fellow opener Sunil Narine added 21 before being dismissed by Cummins.
