Team India are ready to take on New Zealand in a white ball series consisting of 3 T20IS and ODI’S. For the T20IS, Hardik Pandya has been named the stand-in captain as Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul rested after the world cup.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has praised Hardik Pandya after his return to international cricket from injury. Pandya this year has won the IPL with the Gujarat Titans and will lead the men in blue in New Zealand on 18th November.
Addressing reporters ahead of the 1st T20I, Williamson said:
“Hardik is obviously a superstar of the game, and I have played a lot against him. He is one of the most sought-after match-winners, given the fact that he is an all-rounder. He has also had a lot of success in the IPL. In terms of leadership for India, they have a lot of experience, and the guidance of the likes of Rohit and Virat will be very helpful for them.”
“I think India is a side that has an incredible amount of depth” – Kane Williamson

While responding to another question asked by them about the depth of Indian cricket, Kabe Williamson stressed that the Men in Blue have an incredible amount of talent. He responded by saying,
“I know all the players that are involved, and I think India is a side that has an incredible amount of depth, and we have seen that in international cricket. There are some new faces, but a lot of them, if not all of them, have played international cricket. The talent and skill in this side is clear for everybody to see and we know that they are a formidable side.”
India’s bad run in the semi-finals continue in the ICC events and will look at this T20I series as preparation for the 2024 T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the USA.
