After two consecutive losses, Pakistan have gotten themselves on the points board with a win against the Netherlands at Perth. The Netherlands was reduced to 91-9 in their innings, comfortably chased down by Pakistan.

During the game Dutch, all-rounder Bas de Leede was dealt a significant blow by Haris Rauf, which hit him below his eye. In the last over of the powerplay, de Leede was on strike and was hit with a nasty blow to his face due to a bouncer by Rauf.

Eventually, he was seen retiring from the crease and returning to the dugout. After the match, Haris Rauf went to him and hugged him.

Haris Rauf is known for his fiery bowling and pace. He consistently clocks more than 145 kmph. Given that the world cup is in Australia, which supports his style of bowling, it was obvious that he would be a threat to any batter in this tournament, and this was evident with the Netherlands.

ICC has shared a video where the pacer from Pakistan can be heard saying to come back stronger. Rauf told him, “Speedy recovery, you’ll come back stronger. And hit ‘em sixes (laughs). Go well, go well!

The conditions in Perth had suited the Pakistan bowling lineup. The pacers had created pressure on the opposition and came in Shadab Khan, who reaped the rewards of their efforts and picked up three wickets in his four overs.

Pakistan on the verge of getting eliminated from T20 World Cup

Pakistan is now much closer to getting eliminated from the tournament, given that India lost to South Africa yesterday. They depended on the arch-rival’s win to keep their semi-final hope alive.

They will next be seen playing the in-form South Africa on Thursday, November 3, at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
