Actress Geeta Basra has showered praise on Virat Kohli for having Anushka Sharma with him during his 100th test ceremony. The Indian cricketer played his milestone test on March 4 at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali against Sri Lanka.
A felicitation ceremony took place before the match to congratulate Virat Kohli on his achievement. India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid presented Kohli’s his 100th test match cap. During the ceremony, Virat Kohli was accompanied by his wife and actress, Anushka Sharma. His daughter, Vamika, his mother, and brother were watching the ceremony from the stands.
Post ceremony, Virat Kohli was trolled on social media, for having Anushka by his side. However, Harbhajan Singh’s wife and actress Geeta Basra is all praise for the former Indian skipper for this gesture.
Speaking to Bollywood Life, Geeta was asked about her opinion on the trolling that Anushka Sharma often receives when Virat Kohli does not bat well. She replied, “It’s so great the way she (Anushka) is there with him (Virat) through it all. I think it’s the first time I saw pictures where on the 100th Test match, there’s a wife standing next to him to receive the award. I think it’s fabulous. He (Virat) is changing standards, he is changing rules because for him that’s his family, his wife is his family.”

Geeta Basra further said that it’s great to see that the thinking has changed along with times. She added that it’s nice to see, Virat Kohli change the rules by supporting Anushka Sharma.
“And I think it’s great that the support of Anushka for Virat is equal to the support of Virat for Anushka. So I really loved the fact, I don’t think I have ever seen that kind of support at someone’s 100th Test match, and I think it’s fabulous. He is changing rules, and I think that’s nice. I think it’s great to see that. I think times have changed, and like I said it’s great to see that shift. It’s great to see the thinking that has changed,” Geeta added.
