How Has Rohit Sharma Performed Against Pakistan In The Champions Trophy?

India captain Rohit Sharma will aim to maintain his strong form when the Men in Blue face arch-rivals Pakistan in the 2025 Champions Trophy Group A match in Dubai on Sunday, February 23.

Earlier this month, Rohit smashed a century against England in Cuttack and followed it up with a 41-run knock off 36 balls against Bangladesh in India’s opening match of the tournament. His innings, which included seven fours, was cut short when he miscued a big shot off Taskin Ahmed.

Team India will be hoping for a bigger contribution from their skipper against Pakistan. In the Champions Trophy, Rohit has scored 109 runs in three innings against Pakistan, averaging 36.33 with a strike rate of 70.77.

Rohit Sharma has registered one half-century against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy but has also been dismissed for a duck once. His best performance in the tournament came in Birmingham in June 2017, where he scored 91 off 119 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes.

In his other outings against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy, he managed 18 off 32 balls in Birmingham in June 2013 and was dismissed for a three-ball duck in the 2017 final at the same venue.

How has Rohit Sharma performed against Pakistan in ODI matches?

Rohit Sharma has an impressive ODI record against Pakistan, scoring 873 runs in 19 innings at an average of 51.35 and a strike rate of 92.38. His tally includes two centuries and eight half-centuries.

His highest ODI score against Pakistan came in the 2019 World Cup in Manchester, where he smashed 140 off 113 balls, hitting 14 fours and three sixes, leading India to an 89-run victory (DLS method).

Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 111 off 119 balls against Pakistan in the 2018 Asia Cup in Dubai, hitting seven fours and four sixes while adding 210 runs with Shikhar Dhawan. India comfortably chased 238 in 39.3 overs, winning by nine wickets.

In the 2023 World Cup match at Ahmedabad, Rohit played a crucial knock of 86 off 63 balls, smashing six fours and six sixes, as India chased down 192 in 30.3 overs.
