Indian captain Rohit Sharma once again demonstrated why he is admired by both senior and junior players in the team. Following India’s match against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai, Rohit surprised everyone with a special gesture for Shubman Gill.

After securing victory for India, Gill shook hands with the opposition players before heading toward the dressing room. Meanwhile, skipper Rohit Sharma led the Indian team onto the field for the customary post-match handshakes.

It was a wonderful gesture from the Indian captain, who was delighted with the team’s strong start and chose to greet his deputy in a special way. Rohit later hugged Gill and praised him for his brilliant century.

Shubman Gill delivers a game-winning performance

Shubman Gill played a brilliant innings, showcasing great composure in a high-quality knock. He started aggressively but balanced his approach with caution. His opening partner, Rohit Sharma, played his usual attacking game, giving India a strong start on a challenging Dubai pitch.

Rohit scored 41 off 36 balls, while Virat Kohli fell early. With India losing wickets regularly, pressure mounted on Gill. At 144-4, Bangladesh looked to be staging a comeback. However, the Indian vice-captain stayed composed, adjusting his approach when needed to keep India on course.

Gill reached his century off 125 balls, marking the slowest ODI hundred by an Indian since the 2019 World Cup. He remained unbeaten on 101 off 129 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes. KL Rahul provided steady support, remaining not out on 41 off 47 balls. India successfully chased down the 229-run target with 21 balls to spare, securing a comfortable six-wicket victory.
