Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Priyansh Arya gave a blunt response when asked about Virat Kohli’s maiden IPL victory. The 23-year-old admitted that he was still upset after PBKS lost the final to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). RCB defeated PBKS by six runs to claim their first-ever IPL title. After playing 18 seasons for the franchise, Kohli finally lifted the trophy that had long eluded him.
Arya, who had previously revealed his wish to play for RCB and idolized Kohli, was asked in a recent Sports Yaari interview whether he felt happy for Kohli. When questioned about his reaction to Kohli winning the title, the star batter said he was not happy after the final.
Even when asked later if he had started feeling happy for Virat Kohli, Arya replied that he was still disappointed with the loss and had not yet overcome the frustration of coming so close to victory.
“Nahi uss time khush nahi tha main. Nahi nahi main abhi tak dukhi hoon (No I was not happy then. No, no, I am still upset even now),” he said.
