“I Have Always Liked Him”: Vivian Richards Expresses His Thoughts On Team India Skipper Rohit Sharma

The 35-year-old Rohit Sharma will captain the Men in Blue in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be his first World Cup as Captain of the Indian cricket team. On October 16, the group stage matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 are set to start.

At the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Super 12 round will start on October 22, and the final is scheduled for November 13. On October 23 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, India will play their tournament opener against their biggest rival, Pakistan.

During a conversation with veteran journalist Vimal Kumar, Richards said that he has always liked Rohit. He said:

“I have always liked Rohit and especially when Virat was the captain. I have been a big fan of Rohit even before he became the captain.”

Further praising Tendulkar and Kohli, two legendary Indian batsmen, Richards said that they have respect for one another. He stated:

“There is mutual respect between me and Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. I do have a lot of respect for what they have achieved. Also, admire Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.

“I admire him and all those individuals who have built Indian cricket and played a vital role in making it the place it is today. I am a fan of good batsmen and you guys mean that great batsmen have always come to India,” he added.

In the last edition of the T20 world cup in 2021, India failed to reach Semi-Finals because they lost against Pakistan and Newzealand. This time the Stakes are high, and all of India just wishes to be the T20 world champion once again.
