Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-2021 is the most historical test series win in the history of Indian cricket. Neeraj Pandey has produced a documentary named “Bandon Mein tha Dum” to showcase the struggles and fight back of the Indian test team in that Border Gavaskar Trophy.

In the documentary, Ajinkya Rahane revealed an interesting incident which happened after Shardul Thakur got out in the run chase at Gabba. Rahane said that Rohit Sharma was very furious after Shardul got out after playing a reckless shot and wanted to teach him a lesson.

Ajinkya Rahane said: “Shardul Thakur was walking in when Washington got out. Rohit told him ‘This is your opportunity of becoming a hero’. And he just nodded and left. Rohit was sitting next to me. He said, ‘let the match get over, let us win, I will teach him a lesson’. I said, forget it, we’ll see once the match is over.”

Meanwhile, the Indian team won the test match and test series at Gabba. It was a historical run chase led by Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant. Cheteshwar Pujara too played a crucial role in the run chase. The most special thing about the win at Gabba was that India was missing its main players like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja.

Ravichandran Ashwin too narrated this incident. Ashwin said he can understand what went through in the mind of Shardul. Ashwin said: “As he was about to go, Rohit said, “Shardul, finish it”. This is exactly what he said, I totally understand Shardul.”

Ashwin further added: “He would have imagined ‘like how Ravi bhai said, Dhoni hits a six and wins the World Cup. So inside Shardul’s head, he has already figured out the moment, the commentary and everything. So Shardul gone for it, it’s gone to short square leg and got out. And everybody inside is like “What are you doing?”
