Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill and the rest of the team are celebrating the Indian Premier League 2022 season title win with an open-bus parade for the fans in Ahmedabad. They defeated the Rajasthan Royals to clinch the title on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The Gujarat Titans fans lined up on the streets as the open-top bus parade was taken from the Usmanpura Riverfront to the Vishwakunj Riverfront in Ahmedabad on Monday evening. They cheered in jubilation as the players acknowledged their support.

Opening batter Shubman Gill posted an Instagram reel from the event. He captioned the video,“I guess we’ll never know”. It featured the Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya and the rest of the team with the IPL Trophy.

Talking about the match, the Gujarat Titans won the finals comfortably with seven wickets to spare, chasing 131 runs. They chased down the target in just over 18 overs, on the back of Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 45 runs knock. Skipper Hardik Pandya was the Player of the Match for his all-round performance of 3/17 and 39 runs.

Winning IPL is just as big as winning the U19 World Cup: Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill had a good season for the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2022 season. He scored 483 runs in seventeen matches at an average of 34.50, with four half-centuries to his name. In the finals, Shubman Gill took up the responsibility to stay till the end to take his team home.

Reflecting on his performance and the Indian Premier League 2022 championship win, Shubman said,

“It means a lot. After winning the Under-19 World Cup, winning the IPL is just as big. It is my fifth year and I’m fortunate enough to win the IPL this time. I wanted to be there till the end and that was the talk with the coaches. Glad I took them over the line.”
