ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Litton Das Expresses Frustration About Journalists Being In The Team Hotel Before The IND vs BAN Match – Reports

Litton Das, the wicket-keeper batsman from Bangladesh, expressed his unhappiness when a group of journalists took pictures of him and his fellow players outside their team hotel in Pune, just before their upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup match against India on Thursday, October 19.

As per The Daily Star report, journalists were present at the Conrad Hotel, trying to engage with the Bangladesh players. Taskin Ahmed, Towhid Hridoy, and Mahmudullah had no issues with this and went on to welcome the journalists. However, Litton Das did not share the same sentiment.

He told the security team about the journalists, and they were asked to leave. This made the journalists very angry.

Bangladesh won one and lost two of their initial matches in the 2023 ODI World Cup. They started with a win against Afghanistan but faced back-to-back losses to England and New Zealand afterward.

Adding to their challenges, Bangladesh might not have Shakib Al Hasan in the important upcoming match against India. The captain injured his left quad during the game against New Zealand in Chennai and also faced cramps while batting in the first innings.

Litton Das was out for no runs against New Zealand

Litton Das has a great history of performances against India, including a century in the 2018 Asia Cup Final. However, he hasn’t been in top form lately. He was absent during the Asia Cup 2023 league stage due to illness but returned for the Super 4s stage.

Das had a series of poor performances in the tournament, even scoring a duck against India. He did manage a fifty in the heavy loss to England during the ongoing World Cup but then had a disappointing first-ball dismissal against New Zealand. Trent Boult dismissed him, thanks to a sharp catch by Matt Henry at fine leg.
