Sachin Tendulkar gave the Afghanistan team a ‘pep-talk’ before their practice session at Wankhede Stadium. He then took a walk around the pitch along with former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja, who is the mentor of the Afghanistan team and coach Jonathan Trott. Sachin also spoke with Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) chief Mirwais Ashraf about the team’s journey so far. Several pictures from the legendary cricketer’s visit have gone viral on social media.

Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi was delighted to meet Sachin Tendulkar. He expressed that the team was excited to meet the former cricketer. Hashmatullah Shahidi said as quoted by Sport Star,
“This is our first meeting with him. We all are excited because he’s the legend of the game. And for a lot of players, we were watching him on TV as a successful player. He was a role model for a lot of our players. So, it will be an exciting time for the entire team.”
