ICC T20 World Cup 2021: Twitter Reacts As Virat Kohli Steers India To A Defendable Total

India

The first innings of the huge India Pakistan game in the ICC T20 World cup 2021 are all about ups and downs. Shaheen Afridi has bowled the spell of his life against the Virat-led Indian team. Afridi took Rohit Sharma by surprise after bowling that unplayable delivery and getting him plumed in front of the stumps. Soon after, he took KL Rahul clean bowled by an extraordinary inswinging delivery coming into Rahul and knocking his bails off.

Virat Kohli (57) and Rishabh Pant (39) stitched a crucial 53-run partnership for the fourth wicket as India got 151/7 after Pakistan invited them to bat first in Dubai. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi (3/31) was the most successful bowler throughout the innings.

Virat Kohli produced a captain’s knock to help India recover from a shaky start to set Pakistan 152 to win in the crunch Group 2 game in Dubai.

Kohli’s 57 off 48 deliveries was his 29th T20 half-century for India and his 10th at World Cups and came at a particularly important time for his team after a fiery opening spell from Shaheen Shah Afridi blew apart the top order.

Afridi produced two stunning deliveries to get Pakistan off to a flier after Babar Azam had won the toss and opted to bowl first. The 21-year-old’s rocket of a yorker had Rohit Sharma trapped plumb in front for a first-ball duck inside the opening over.

India has put up a decent total on the board of 151/7 of their 20 overs, with captain Kohli playing a captains innings of 47 from 49 delivers.
