During the second Test against England in Vizag on Saturday (February 3), Team India captain Rohit Sharma had a comical interaction with umpire Marais Erasmus regarding a DRS review.  The incident occurred after the 26th over of England’s first innings, where Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Joe Root on the fourth delivery and followed it with a superb yorker to Jonny Bairstow on the next ball.

Bairstow, on his first ball, failed to bring his bat down quickly enough, resulting in the ball striking his boots. Bumrah and the Indian fielders appealed for LBW, but the umpire, Marais Erasmus, dismissed the appeal. After some consideration, Rohit Sharma contemplated using the DRS by discussing it with the wicket-keeper and bowler but ultimately chose not to.

In a lighthearted manner, he asked the umpire, “What do you think?” The umpire responded, “It is too late now.” Rohit chuckled and proceeded to set the field for the next over.
