Rohit Sharma’s Previous Forecast For Yashasvi Jaiswal Gains Widespread Attention Following Jaiswal’s Remarkable Century

The left-hander concluded Day 1 without getting dismissed, accumulating an unbeaten score of 179* (257) with 17 boundaries and five sixes. Indian young batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased his prowess on Day 1 of the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam, securing his second Test century.

Jaiswal ended the day unbeaten at 179* (257), including 17 fours and five sixes, contributing to India’s total of 336/6 at stumps. Despite his remarkable innings, no other Indian batter could withstand the England bowling attack, with the next-highest score being 34 by Shubman Gill.

Following Jaiswal’s splendid ton, an earlier prediction from India captain Rohit Sharma gained widespread attention on social media. In the prediction, Sharma had praised Jaiswal for his double hundred against Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019.

Jaiswal had shared highlights of his remarkable 203 against Jharkhand in a March 2020 Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite Group A match. Rohit Sharma, in response to the Instagram video, had commended the young player, commenting ‘Next Superstar.’

At 17 years and 192 days old, Yashasvi Jaiswal made history by becoming the first male teenager to achieve a double-century in List-A cricket. After Jaiswal’s second Test hundred against England on Day 1, Rohit Sharma’s earlier prediction has been circulating widely on social media.

In post-match remarks, Jaiswal disclosed that he approached the game session by session and expressed his aspiration to achieve his first double hundred on Day 2.

I aim to double my score and stay on the field until the end to contribute to the team: Yashasvi Jaiswal

“I wanted to play it session by session. When they were bowling well, I just wanted to get through that spell. Initially, the wicket was damp and there was spin and bounce, with a bit of seam.”

“However, I wanted to convert the loose balls, and play till the end. I would love to double this up, and play till the end for the team,” He mentioned during a conversation with the broadcasters after the conclusion of Friday’s play.

At the close of Day 1, India ended their innings with Ravichandran Ashwin contributing 5* off 10 deliveries, and Jaiswal remaining at the crease as the last recognized batting pair.

The pair aims to collaborate and accumulate a minimum of 100 runs for the seventh wicket, intending to set a formidable total for England in the first innings.
