IND vs PAK: [WATCH]- Naseem Shah Walkes Off The Field In Tears Following Pakistan’s Defeat To India In Their T20 World Cup 2024 Match

Pakistani fast-bowling prodigy Naseem Shah was seen in tears following a close defeat to Team India in their T20 World Cup 2024 match at Nassau International County Stadium in New York. As he made his way back to the pavilion, Shaheen Shah Afridi was there to console him.

Naseem Shah displayed remarkable determination in his batting as Pakistan entered the 20th over needing 18 runs against Arshdeep Singh. He managed a scoop shot over the keeper for a boundary on the fourth delivery and followed it up with another boundary at deep backward point.

Despite his efforts, Pakistan fell short by six runs, ending their chase of 120.

This marked Pakistan’s sixth loss against India in eight T20 World Cup encounters, pushing them towards an early exit from the 2024 tournament.

Naseem Shah was Pakistan’s standout bowler of the night

In the first innings, the 21-year-old led Pakistan’s remarkable bowling display by exploiting the favorable conditions in New York. The right-arm fast bowler struck in his opening over, dismissing Virat Kohli cheaply and then bowled out Axar Patel.

Naseem also took the wicket of Shivam Dube for a low score, finishing with impressive figures of 4-0-21-3. Haris Rauf took three wickets, Mohammad Amir claimed two, and Shaheen Shah Afridi secured one. Pakistan’s openers had a solid start, and the team appeared in control midway through the innings.

However, the dismissal of Fakhar Zaman in the 13th over became a turning point as India tightened their grip, making it difficult for Pakistan to chase the target. Jasprit Bumrah earned the Player of the Match award for his outstanding figures of 4-0-14-3, taking the key wickets of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Iftikhar Ahmed.

The Men in Blue started their campaign with a victory over Ireland and have now secured their second win.
