With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the focus shifts to international cricket as India gear up to the lock horns against South Africa. Both teams will play a five-match T20I series, which starts on June 9 in Delhi.
India come into this series on the back of 12 consecutive T20I wins, thereby levelling with Afghanistan and Romania. They will hope to keep the winning run going and register the record of the most consecutive victories in the shortest format.
The hosts have rested the senior cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami with the fifth and final Tests against England scheduled to commence on July 1 in Birmingham.
On the other hand, South Africa have named a star-studded squad. Former skipper Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Anrich Nortje, Dwaine Pretorious, Kagiso Rabada, and newcomer Tristan Stubbs are all a part of the Proteas squad.
