Former Indian and RCB captain Virat Kohli had a terrible outing in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). He couldn’t create the impact that was expected of him. Several cricket experts have given several reasons behind the downfall of the talismanic run-scorer. Recently, former Indian cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin too expressed his views on it.

Azharuddin pointed out that even a 50 looks like a failure for Kohli. The cricketer-turned-administrator also backed Virat Kohli to come back in form on the England tour. He believes that Virat would come mentally charged up after taking a break in the T20I series against South Africa.

“When Kohli gets a 50, it seems he has failed, of course, he has not done much this year. Everybody, even the best, goes through a bad phase in their careers. Kohli has been playing a lot of cricket and now that he has got a little break, hopefully, he will come back to form in England,” Mohammed Azharuddin said on GulfNews.

Azharuddin also added that Virat Kohli needs a bit of luck too and there is no problem in his technique. Azhar said, “There’s nothing wrong with Kohli’s technique, sometimes you need a bit of luck also. One big score or a century will bring the aggression back and he will be a different player.”

“He completely changed the game with his three wickets” – Mohammad Azharuddin hails Hardik Pandya

Mohammad Azharuddin was also in awe of the allrounder skills of Hardik Pandya. Azhar was very much impressed with the bowling spell of Pandya in the IPL 2022 Final. Azharuddin believes that Hardik needs to work on his fitness to prevent injuries and bowl his quota of overs.

Azhar said, “Pandya is a good talent and as an all-rounder of repute, it is important that he bowls his overs. He completely changed the game with his three wickets in four overs in the final against Rajasthan. He has the ability and has done well for India, but he was not able to be with the team consistently due to the injury.”
