Speaking to IANS, the former pacer has weighed in on various aspects of the game from the Indian team. He first started off by talking about the ODI and the T20I series.

“In T20Is and ODIs, I don’t think there is a probability of Australia winning. Our team is doing very well, and we are far ahead of Australia in these two formats. But India will get a fight in the Test series. It is a different format and we will have to work hard and differently,” Singh told IANS.

Both Teams Have Good Bowling Attacks: RP Singh

RP Singh then spoke about the Test series and said that the bowling attack of both teams are equally good. He first spoke about the Aussie bowling attack having the likes of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc.

“The chances of India winning are higher than Australia’s, but it will be an equal fight. I think the bowling departments of both teams are equal, as Australia have pacers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. But I think India has the upper hand in batting department,” he opined.

RP Singh then moved on to the Indian bowling attack having the likes of Mohammed Shami & Jasprit Bumrah. Meanwhile, India will miss the services of Ishant Sharma who is expected to miss the Test series. RP Singh picked up 13 wickets from four Tests in India’s tour to Australia in 2008.

“Our bowling department, including Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, is very good and it will surely surprise the Australians. Even our bench is very good. And if you look at the team balance, India is a much better-balanced team,” the former left-arm speedster pointed out.
