Hardik Pandya, the stand-in captain of Team India, recently had a delightful time with his teammates Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill in the West Indies. After securing a decisive victory in the third ODI with all three players achieving remarkable half-centuries, the Men in Blue clinched the three-match series with a 2-1 margin, leading to this joyful occasion.
The Indian cricket team remained composed despite a six-wicket loss in the second ODI and bounced back with a clinical performance in the decider, overpowering the Windies to secure a resounding win. Now, with the ODI series triumph behind them, India is bracing for a five-match T20I series against the West Indies, scheduled from August 3 to 13.
As the team prepared for the series opener at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad, Hardik Pandya took to his Instagram account to share some candid snapshots of their leisure time, indulging in food, laughter, and beach vibes.
Captioning the images, Pandya aptly captured the laid-back essence of their time together, saying, “Food, laughter, and some more 🏝️🌊.”
After the T20I series in the West Indies, India is set to play three T20Is against Ireland, but with a notable lineup change. The Men in Blue will field a second-string side, led by Jasprit Bumrah. Apart from the on-field triumph, Pandya did not hesitate to voice his concerns during the post-match presentation ceremony after the third ODI.
As the stand-in skipper for the game, he criticized the arrangements provided for the visiting team by West Indies Cricket, highlighting the need for improved facilities for touring sides.
Hardik Pandya expressed criticism towards West Indies Cricket for their inadequate “basic arrangements.”
He emphasized the importance of basic necessities being taken care of when teams travel, without the demand for luxury. He praised the Trinidad ground, yet called for better management of travel and logistics, pointing out that similar hiccups had occurred in the past.
With the Men in Blue posting a commanding total of 351/5 in the third ODI, courtesy of Gill’s 85 off 92 balls, the bowlers, led by Shardul Thakur (4/47) and Mukesh Kumar (3/30), put up a dominant display, bundling out the West Indies for 151 in 35.3 overs.
The players’ off-field camaraderie and exceptional on-field performance have set an exciting tone for the upcoming T20I series against the West Indies and Ireland, as the rejuvenated Indian team looks to continue their winning streak.
