Indian President Ramnath Kovind Gifts 100 Cricket Kits To Jamaica Cricket Association

Indian President Ramnath Kovind gifted cricket kits to the Jamaica Cricket association on his four-day visit to Jamaica as a symbol of good relations and trade between the two nations. This cricket development program will help in the training of the young cricketers of Jamaica.

JCA president said “This is a proud moment, for me personally and for the cricket fraternity in Jamaica. As Jamaica Cricket Association, we are indeed happy that this gift is coming from India, it’s a mega cricket in the world. We will be getting 100 kits and that’s a lot. It has been planned that half of them will be given to the high schools,”

Jamaica Cricket’s president believes that such exchanges will strengthen the relationship between the two nations. Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) president Wilfred Billy Heaven thanked the Indian President for this noble work and goodwill gesture to help the youngsters in Jamaica.

The Indian team is scheduled to tour the West Indies for a five-match T20I series and three-match ODI series this year. The first match of the tour is expected to be played on 22nd July. 3 ODIs and the first three T20Is will take place in the Caribbean Island, while the last two T20I matches would take place in Florida.

Wilfred also said that Jamaica cricket earns maximum when the Indian team tours the West Indies. He revealed that crowd support is massive for India in Sabina Park. JCA earns most of their income stream from the Indian tour of WI. He also said that Several kids in Jamaica dream of playing in the Indian Premier League.

“Whenever India plays any match in the Caribbean, a lot of people see those matches between India and West Indies. We make the most money whenever Team India comes here to play and it’s our biggest income stream at Cricket West Indies” added the JCA president
