Shreyas Iyer, DC’s regular skipper was unavailable for the first phase of the league due to a shoulder injury. In his absence, wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant led the squad. Iyer is expected to attain match fitness before the second leg of the IPL 2021.
Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is leading the chart of Most runs in IPL 2021. He has scored 380 runs in eight matches so far, at an average of 54.28. DC will bank on their in-form players – Dhawan and Avesh Khan (DC’s leading wicket-taker this season) in the second phase of the tournament. They will be keen to continue the good momentum and win their first-ever IPL title.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has laid out a 46-page health advisory for the players and the franchise ahead of the start of the UAE leg.
