Country Afghanistan is going through a very tough time. Also due to the challenging conditions and political tension, there was a question mark against the participation of Afghanistan players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Notably, two of the big names of Afghanistan cricket, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi are part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise. Also, it has been revealed the duo will participate in the second phase of IPL 2021.

Meanwhile, the first phase of IPL 2021 which was suspended due to Covid-19 is all set to start in UAE. Also, the CEO of SRH K. Shanmugam has confirmed that Rashid and Nabi will participate in the UAE leg of IPL 2021. While talking with ANI, he asserted:

We haven’t spoken on what is happening at present, but they are available for the tournament,”

Meanwhile, the CEO of SRH K. Shanmugam also revealed the travel date of the team. He said:

“We are leaving at the end of the month, August 31.”

Star leg spinner Rashid Khan is currently in England for playing the new format of cricket The Hundred. Notably, the Hundred is the format introduced by ECB, and Rashid Khan is currently part of the Trent Rockets team where he has been performing great consistently.

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen revealed the chat which he had with the leg spinner on boundary ropes. Pietersen told that Rashid is worried because he can’t get his family out of Afghanistan. Kevin stated:

“There’s a lot of things that are happening at home. We had a long chat here on the boundary talking about it and he’s worried: he can’t get his family out of Afghanistan and there’s a lot of things happening for him.”

Kevin Pietersen praised Rashid Khan for the efforts and dedication he showing to play cricket despite having so much pressure. Pietersen said:

“For him to turn up and put on a performance like this under the pressure that he is currently under… for him to be able to forget that stuff and navigate his story and continue the momentum that he has – I think that’s probably one of the most heart-warming stories of this Hundred so far.”
