IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals Bus Vandalised In Mumbai; FIR Registered

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals’ bus has been vandalised in Mumbai on Tuesday (March 15). However, there was no inside the bus and was no casualties.

Meanwhile, ANI has confirmed an FIR has been lodged against the troublemakers, who attacked the Delhi Capitals bus parked on the roadside.

“An FIR has been filed under sections 143,147,149,427 of the IPC against 5-6 unknown men for allegedly attacking the Delhi Capital IPL team’s parked bus,” ANI tweeted.

They added:

“Colaba Police has detained four people, including Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s transport wing vice president Prashant Gandhi. Search for once more accused is underway.”

Meanwhile, all people, who were charged for vandalising the bus has been arrested by the Colaba police, another tweet by ANI confirmed.

“Colaba Police arrests all five accused in the matter relating to vandalisation of IPL team Delhi Capitals’ bus in Mumbai, say police,” the tweet read. 


Shane Watson appointed Delhi Capitals assistant coach

Celebrated Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has been appointed as Delhi Capitals’ head coach ahead of IPL 2022. He joined countrymen Ricky Ponting and James Hopes in the side as the franchise continue their hunt for the maiden trophy.

Speaking on the developments, the 40-year-old former cricketer said:

“The IPL is the world’s best T20 tournament. As a player, I cherish wonderful memories of conquering the IPL with Rajasthan Royals in 2008, captained by the legendary Shane Warne, RCB, and then CSK.”

He then went on to add:

“As just a player, I have had wonderful times, and now I have the opportunity to coach. And it has become possible to work with Ricky Ponting, who is a legend in cricket. As a captain, he was an incredible leader, and now I get to coach alongside him. He is now considered one of the greatest coaches in the world. So I’m looking forward to learning the ropes from Ricky.”
