The Gujarat Titans lost their second match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season on Tuesday, against the Punjab Kings at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. They failed to defend 143 runs, losing the game by eight wickets.
Gujarat Titans skipper, Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first. However, their batters failed to make the most of an opportunity. Sai Sudharshan was the lone saviour for the franchise with the bat. He slammed 65 runs off 50 balls, including five boundaries and a six. Sai Sudarshan stitched a partnership with Rahul Tewatia of 45 runs for the fifth wicket stand.
During the course of their partnership, Rahul Tewatia appeared to be angry at Sai Sudharsan. In the 12th over of the innings, Sai Sudarshan refused a single, after Tewatia hit a slow outside off delivery towards cover-point and set off running. This irked the all-rounder who looked livid, having denied a single. The fans on social media were not impressed with Tewatia’s reaction.
Here’s a few tweets about fans reacting to Tewatia getting angry on Sai Sudarshan:
What does tewatia thinks of himself.

Rahul Tewatia is not ruffled with the situation, that’s what makes him the ice-man: Sunil Gavaskar
Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar is all praise for Gujarat Titans player Rahul Tewatia. He termed the all-rounder as an ‘ice-man’. Rahul has been a key performer and a match-winner for the Gujarat Titans in this Indian Premier League 2022 season.
Tewatia has slammed 190 runs at an average of 38 and a strike rate of 153.22, batting in the lower order. Praising his composed behavior on the field during crunch situations, Sunil Gavaskar said,
“Reason why call him the ice-man is because he just stands there (at the crease) and shows no signs of shrugs or whatever. He’s composed, he’s anticipating the deliveries and knows which shots to play. In his mind, he’s ready that if the ball is (landing) there, he’s going to play his favorite shot. And when he middles (the ball), it’s always a six. That’s what makes him the ice-man because he’s not ruffled at all (with the situation).”
