Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals in their second encounter in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League. This was the first win of KKR after 5 consecutive defeats. Rajasthan Royals couldn’t manage to score a good total while batting first which was the main reason for their loss.

Little master Sunil Gavaskar raised the objection over the usage of Shimron Hetmyer in Rajasthan team. Gavaskar believes that Hetmyer should be batting up the order since he is striking the ball beautifully. He said that Hetmyer should be sent to bat in 11th or 12th over if wicket falls.

“People get these labels. ‘Finisher’. It means you have to come only in the 14th or 15th over, that’s not right. The man is in form, even if a wicket falls in the 11th over, get him out there.” said Gavaskar about the batting position of Hetmyer on Star Sports .

Cricket fans too agreed with this statement of Gavaskar. Shimron Hetmyer has been in amazing form in the ongoing season of IPL. Hetmyer has scored 260 runs at average of 52 and impactful strike rate of 163. He is timing the ball brilliantly. Hetmyer has been given the responsibility of playing those impactful knocks while finishing the innings. He scored 27 runs in 13 balls against KKR.

I have been waiting for the last five years to get a chance- Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh played the biggest role in this win of KKR. Match was in tricky situation when Kolkata needed 39 runs in 24 balls to win. But Rinku Singh played with great maturity and scored 42 runs in 23 balls which helped KKR chase down the target. Rinku grabbed man of match award for his brilliant knock.

“This is a big league and there is a lot of pressure obviously. I have been waiting for the last five years to get a chance. I worked very hard, came back from injury and did well in the domestic circuit as well. When I was batting, Bhaiyya (Rana) and Baz (McCullum) told me to stay till the end and finish it.” said Rinku Singh after grabbing man of the match award.
